CDARS
Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service
What is CDARS?
CDARS is the Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service. It is a convenient way to enjoy the full FDIC insurance on deposits larger than $100,000.
ONE BANK ONE RATE ONE STATEMENT
One Bank. CDARS is so convenient to the customer because everything is handled through 21st Century Bank. Your large deposit over $100,000 is broken into smaller amounts and placed with other banks that are also members of the CDARS network. Those member banks then issue CDs in amounts under $100,000 so that your entire investment is eligible for FDIC insurance. By working with just one bank, you can receive insurance from many banks.
One Rate. With CDARS you earn one rate on your entire investment.
One Statement. You receive one regular account statement listing all of your CDs along with the issuing banks, maturity dates, interest earned and other pertinent details.
Here’s how CDARS works:
Enter into one agreement with 21st Century Bank. Select an interest rate and a maturity based on 21st Century Bank’s options. Using the CDARS network, we submit your funds for placement at CDARS-member-banks. CDARS-member-banks then issue CDs in denominations under $100,000 so your entire investment is eligible for FDIC insurance coverage. You receive written confirmation of your deposits and a listing of all of your CDs.
